Description:

Looking for help on how to write a persuasive cover letter or a letter of intent? Join the OCPD for an interactive workshop that will teach you how to craft an effective letter and give you opportunities to participate in activities that will help you compose a better document.

The second half of this session will feature Dr. So, the Assistant Director of Pharmacy at UCSF Medical Center. He will be sharing his experience regarding stand out applicant cover letters and what things he looks for in application materials that successfully demonstrate professional enthusiam and motivation.


Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose, structure and style of a cover letter and/or letter of intent
  • Recognize the common mistakes that applicants make when writing letters through reviewing sample documents
  • Review a basic argument using your relevant experiential examples to support your application
  • Outline desirable qualities that Pharmacy Directors look for in application materials


Please Note:

  • ​Lunch will be provided during this session. Please be sure to register on Eventbrite for this event in order to secure your meal
  • Please bring a draft of your cover letter to this event. You will not be able to participate in activities without having at least a rough draft on hand
  • The workshop is limited to 60 health professional students
